We are not starting from scratch
The hub is built on an already formulated vision, a strategic reading of the regional system and a shared roadmap to guide the circular transition in the Balearic Islands. The circular Roadmap is the key asset of this foundation: an architecture for action that helps structure priorities, mobilise capabilities and bring coherence to change.
Our priorities
Six areas to activate the circular transition in the Balearic Islands
The circular transition in the Balearic Islands takes shape through six priority areas for action, where today’s challenges, interdependencies and opportunities are most strongly concentrated and where systemic transformation can be activated across the archipelago. Through these areas, the hub focuses attention, connects capabilities and gives momentum to initiatives with economic, social and/or environmental impact potential.
Water
Optimise water use and expand reuse in higher-value applications.
Energy
Move towards a renewable, robust energy model better adapted to island demand.
Food
Strengthen local food chains, reduce waste and increase self-sufficiency.
Materials
Extend the value of materials, reduce extraction and support the closing of their cycles.
Mobility
Reorganise island mobility towards more integrated, accessible and lower-impact models.
Land and sea
Integrate the regeneration of land and the marine environment into the transformation logic of the tourism system.
For you, ready to activate change!
Connecting your capabilities with the regenerative future of the Balearic Islands
reN · Balear Circular Hub is born to connect actors, knowledge and capacities for driving the circular transition of the archipelago. Because a shared direction only gains traction when it finds actors willing to activate, collaborate and make new forms of transformation possible across the territory.
The hub invites regional actors to explore how their capabilities, resources or initiatives can drive the circular transition in the Balearic Islands.
Turning encounters into new connections
The hub promotes spaces to share learning, exchange perspectives, co-create solutions and broaden the engagement of actors across the archipelago.
