III Circular Innovation Hackathon
This is an open innovation competition, aimed at Professional Training students from the Balearic Islands, which aims to connect the talent, creativity and technical skills of the student body with real challenges linked to the circular transition of the archipelago.
It is an initiative of IMPULSA BALEARS, developed in the framework of reN · Balear Circular Hub and organized jointly with the Center for Training, Innovation and Development of Professional Training (CFINFP).
During the competition, participating teams will work on specific challenges posed by companies from the islands, with the support of mentors and professionals. The goal is to transform ideas into actionable proposals with positive impact.
Competition and prizes
The III Circular Innovation Hackathon is a 24-hour intensive innovation competition, aimed at PT students of the Balearic Islands, designed to address 6 real challenges related to the circular transition of the Balearic Islands.
At the end of the competition, the 30 participating teams will present their solutions to a jury and receive a certificate of participation.
The jury will evaluate the proposals according to the criteria set out in the participation criteria, taking into account especially the circular and territorial impact, innovation and creativity, feasibility and applicability of the solution, technical quality and use of tools, the final presentation and teamwork.
The hackathon will reward the team that presents the best solution to each challenge.

Companies and mentors
The III Circular Innovation Hackathon connects FP students with companies and professionals working on real challenges linked to the archipelago’s circular transition.
The participating companies will define the challenges that teams must solve during the competition. These challenges will revolve around the six priority areas for action defined in the Roadmap for the transition towards a circular tourism system in the Balearic Islands. Horizon 2025–2035: water, energy, materials, food, mobility and land-sea.
During the process, mentors will accompany teams to help them better understand the challenge, sort out ideas, improve proposals and prepare for the final presentation.

If you are an adult and a PT student in a public or concerted center in the Balearic Islands, this is your chance to test your talent.
You will participate in an intensive innovation experience, work as a team on real challenges posed by companies from the archipelago and develop a circular solution, with the support of mentors and professionals.

No. The challenges will be raised by the participating companies and presented during the hackathon. From there, each team will develop their proposal.
Yes. Each participant must complete the registration form individually. The organization will form the final teams, preferably of 5 participants.
We will work on 6 circular challenges, posed by 6 companies. The challenges will fall under one of the six priority areas for action in the Circular Roadmap: water, energy, materials, food, mobility and land-sea.
Each team should develop a solution proposal for the assigned challenge. The proposal should explain what problem it solves, how it works, who is targeted, how it could be applied, and what positive impact it can have.
Yes. During the hackathon, teams will be supported by mentors and professionals who will help them understand the challenge, guide the proposal and prepare the final presentation.
Yes. Participation in the hackathon is free.
The organization will grant transport aid to students from Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera, according to the criteria and budget availability to be determined. Participants from Mallorca must travel to the venue by their own means.
The organization will provide maintenance during the competition. It will also provide accommodation, according to the established conditions.
Yes. Teams will be able to use digital tools, data, design applications, communication, marketing and artificial intelligence, provided they make responsible use of them and respect regulations, licenses and third-party rights.
The solutions developed by the teams will become the property of the company that has posed the corresponding challenge, always in accordance with the terms established in the participation rules.
